In order to create a vibrant lawn that is free of weeds and is soft to the touch, there are different lawn care equipment tools that are helpful. If the homeowner does not want to buy these pieces of equipment new, there are often lawn care equipment sales that can be found through online auctions or even garage sales. If the equipment is going to be bought used, the individual should check to see if the parts seem to be in good working order and, if possible, test the equipment to be sure that it runs properly.

Types of Equipment

There are some types of lawn care equipment tools that are only used once or twice per year in order to keep the lawn in pristine condition. One of these is the aerator. This piece of lawn care equipment tools is used to take our plugs from the lawn so that air can get into it. Often the roots of the lawn will get too thick and the lawn will start to die. Aerating it helps to prevent this from happening and allows the lawn to grow in a healthier manner. Another type of lawn care equipment tool that is only used a couple times per year is the fertilizer. This piece of equipment helps to spread the fertilizer evenly around the lawn so that every portion gets the right amount of nutrients. This is done in the spring as the lawn is beginning to grow again and also in the fall so that the nutrients can be absorbed in the winter, thus preparing the ground for the spring. Seeders are also used once per year usually to add more seed to the lawn, thus helping to push out the weeds and maintain a lush green lawn.

Other types of lawn care equipment tools are the lawn mower and the trimmer. These are most commonly owned by homeowners, whereas the equipment mentioned above is often rented since it is not used very often. The lawn mower should be tuned up every fall so that it is cleaned, the oil changed, the blade sharpened and any other problems fixed so that it is ready for the next spring. Keeping the blade sharp is important for the health of the lawn so that the cut is clean rather than jagged, which can let in different bacteria and molds. The trimmer is used to help keep the lawn looking sharp at the edges, allowing owners to trim around mailboxes and other things that block the lawn mower from trimming close enough to it without damaging it. It also allows the grass to be trimmed around driveways and curbs so that it does not start to grow over the driveway and curb, but maintains a nice clean line.
